Muslim pilgrims converge at Mount Arafat

Millions of Muslims have gathered at Mount Arafat near Mecca in Saudi Arabia to observe the Day of Arafah.

The Day of Arafah is a significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage and a holy day in Islam. This year, it fell on Sunday, June 16.

Arafat, a vast open area east of Mecca, becomes filled with pilgrims wearing seamless white garments, symbolizing unity and equality before God.

The Day of Arafah is a day of prayer, reflection, and seeking forgiveness.
